OUR JOURNEY
Reflecting is something I believe we all do at any given time of our lives.
The journey we take in life is one that we all reflect on and a lot of why’s and if only we could do things a little different. Some of us our lives just seemed complicated. And we all have some regrets as well.
But if only remembering where we came from and things we have done, big or small we should have some sort of accomplishment that we conquered.
Myself, I never thought I would have done the things I have been blessed to do, living, working or vacationing in places we only read about or have seen on the news or documentaries. It certainly has been a journey.
At a time in life we all have gotten jealous or envied others on what they have done in life or what possessions they were able to accumulate in on their own journey. Now knowing what I have done and accomplished it is short of a small miracle. Those feelings of jealousness and envying others has now passed me, understanding now that our path and journey is a roadmap laid out even before we entered this world.
Myself, I have regrets wishing I could have been a better sibling to my brothers and sister, as well as I wish I could have been a better dad at times. We all make mistakes a long the way on our journey, and I have been reminded if we don’t dwell on the what if’s our journey in life would be “ we did our best’. Something I believe as a parent we have said to our children, “just do your best”.
As we grow older, the reflecting seems to come more often. I am proud of my wife, children and siblings on what they have accomplished and watching them as they continue their life’s journey.
Our journey will never end, even after we leave this world. If we left this world doing our very best we will be remembered by our families and if they were happy to be part of that journey they will pass down your journey to their children and others they share your journey with.
So don’t go through your journey with “why’s, if only and with regrets”. We just have to enjoy the journey we have been given and one day your journey will continue through family and friends. And remember we have done our “very best”.
